Question by Misty & Curt: My ferret is sick and not drinking, eating or walking!!!?
I know she is going to die if I don’t do something and fast. I have been doing the 50/50 ped and water in a dropper for her and she takes maybe a couple drops then refuses. I try to give her the soft chicken treats but she doesn’t have the strength to chew them. I can’t afford the vet bill right now, but I don’t want to lose her. Someone PLEASE help!!

    Why aren’t you already at the vets?

    Then if you don’t want to lose her then go to the vet. Maybe you can work out a payment plan or something or have them bill you for later.

    If you don’t want her to die than get to the vets office NOW.
    Don’t call, don’t wait- Grab your furball, get in the car, and drive. If you feel you must call than call on your way there.

    If you don’t have the money you need to get it now:
    * Ask the vet if you can work out a payment plan.
    * Use a credit card.
    * Sell something.
    * Beg to borrow money from a family member or friend (I had to do this last week when I had an emergency with my ferret).
    * Turn off the cable/ internet/ any other useless entertainment type junk you pay for.

    I wish I could help, the only thing I could think of is do research or go to the Veterinarian. Maybe she has a disease?

    It’s either vet bill or death. I’m sorry, but that’s how it will be. She’s ill, and with such a little body, it doesn’t take much to kill her.

    If you can’t afford the vet bill, call the vet and ask if they would give you a payment plan. If not, there’s a credit card that you can use with no interest. Think this is the one.

    Otherwise, give her pure, unflavored Pedialyte and plain chicken baby food. Also soak her kibble in hot hot water and let it set for an hour. Blend the kibble to make a soupy kind of texture and feed her that. This won’t make her better, but it will keep her alive until you can get her to the vet.

    If you can’t afford the vet – why do you have a ferret? Surrender to a shelter or SHE WILL DIE.

    How do you manage to afford a computer and the internet but “can’t afford” a vet?
